No offense to water, but one of my personal pet peeves is when I want something sweet to drink and don’t have any non-H20 beverages in my refrigerator. I’ll drink the water anyway, but I won’t be as enthused about it. Not to mention, the only flavor packets I have at home are leftover Liquid I.V. that I’d taken with me to this year’s Lollapalooza. As great as juice would be, I’ll admit there are better, less-sugary options I could go for, but it’s so easy to grab what you know. However, I recently found out about Waterdrop, a brand that instantly makes your water tastier without extra sugar. I already drink a lot of water without any bells and whistles, but since trying the Waterdrop Starter Set, I’ve found out that it’s an effective way to curb my juice cravings and improve my hydration throughout the day. Plus, its highly stylish bottle is one that I’m more than happy to add to my growing collection.

What first caught my attention about Waterdrop’s Starter Sets was how many options there are. First, the bottles come in three materials: You can choose from shiny brushed stainless steel, matte stainless steel, and scratch-resistant glass. While the stainless steel bottles must be hand washed (along with the leak-proof bamboo bottle caps), the glass bottles are dishwasher-safe. Second, each bottle type is available in a variety of colors and patterns, including a limited-edition set for the holidays. Third, the stainless-steel and glass options come in 20- or 34-ounce sizes. It took one look at the 20-ounce Glass Starter Set for me to know that’s exactly what I wanted. The clear bottles are beautifully designed with botanical motifs in nearly every color of the rainbow, and there are also frosted white and frosted black glass bottles if you prefer the sleek design without the extra flair. Additionally, every bottle in the glass collection comes with a matching neoprene sleeve that insulates and protects it.

The Waterdrop Starter Sets come with a Microdrink Taster Pack, which is made up of six three-piece packs of flavored cubes that are sugar-free and infused with fruit and plant extracts. Once you add them to 14-20 ounces of cold water, they start dissolving right away, and add a refreshing pop of flavor to your drink without detracting from the quality of your water. The Taster Pack is a great introduction to Waterdrop, but with 13 flavors available at the moment, I’m ready to try them all. (Six is just a delicious teaser!) Fortunately, I was able to try a few other flavors outside of the initial set to get acquainted. As someone who can’t drink coffee every day, I love that there are some naturally caffeinated Microenergy options that taste great, and give me the boost I need to keep up with two rowdy dogs first thing in the morning without the crash. I haven’t worked up to the 90mg Oro flavor yet, but Nero and Shiro have worked wonders for me. Waterdrop also has minty and fruity microteas that you drink hot and electrolyte-rich microlytes for a hydration boost.

In addition to being super stylish and refreshingly tasty, the Waterdrop Starter Set is incredibly giftable for any celebration, including the holidays. The bottles are high-quality, can be used for hot and cold drinks, and can be taken on the go. I’ll be the first one to tell you that water is great on its own, but even I have to admit that Waterdrop just makes it more fun!

Right now is a great time to try Waterdrop out for yourself, as the brand has kicked off their huge Black Friday sale, giving you up to 50 percent off microdrinks, bottles for kids and adults, limited-edition items (including an impressive 12 Days of Christmas gifts set), advent calendars, accessories, and more. You can shop the full Black Friday sale here, and give a gift to a loved one or treat yourself to flavorful hydration!
